Cunderdin in the Dove

Well we managed to get our new camper erected and stashed a lot of stuff in it. I think it will take a while to sort out the best place for everything. And I think we perhaps brought a few things that we shouldn't have! We had planned to do a trial pack at the caravan sales yard but that did not happen. The Salvation Army in Kalgoorlie may be the beneficiary.

The brake bizzo was installed at 12:40 PM. There was drama because the salesman had forgotten to write it in the appointment book, but it got done anyway. We got our lesson in set up and were on the road by 2:15. By 4:15 we'd made Cunderdin and set up camp in the caravan park there. We had talked a fair bit with the owners of the park when we cycled through here 20 days ago and wondered if they would recognize us, but apparently not. That was a relief as I didn't feel up to relating the long sad story.

The Dove tows really well and the electric brakes are excellent. The last camper we had, 10 years ago, had mechanical brakes and they were the pits.

We managed to get Lee a Next G mobile phone before leaving the big smoke, which is Telstra's maximum coverage network, so even when I'm driving, she will be able to contact me.
