Finally we're on our way! (66.17 km)

After much debate, we left Fremantle at 9:30 morning. The problem was that there was high winds and rain, not your best start to a bike tour! Once we got going we were very pleased we did because the wind wasn't too bad and the sun shon a lot.

The bob trailers proved to be a bit wobbley when fully loaded. I estimate we have about 20kg in each trailer (thank God for womens lib!). We are carrying a tent, methanol stove, sleeping mats, a bit of food (breakfast) and minimal clothing.

The ride was very pleasant to Guildford, were we had lunch in a park. After lunch the ral work began, climbing the 200 m scarp. The route we took follows an old rail track, so the gradiant is nice and gradual. We made it to the travelers rest motel at about 3:30 clocking up 66kms ffor the day.

This day was worrying us both as we had never pulled the bobs full before let alone up a big hill! There was much celabratory punching in the air!

In Mundaring we did a bit of shoping and had a very nice meal at Mings restaraunt.
