June 19 2008 Palmer again

Well, to use the quaint North American phrase, I had a brain-fart of monumental proportions when I wrote up the Anchorage to Palmer leg. Brain-fart is a fairly self explanatory term and for the most part it is very apt. I get a mind picture of a slightly deflated brain slumped in a cranium and looking bewildered. Really the only place where the analogy wears thin is in the satisfaction area - the real thing is high in the satisfaction stakes, a brain fart much less so!

Anyway, my brain-fart was that I completely forgot one of the highlights of the day, our stop at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. This place is a bit like a large pen zoo where they keep orphaned or maimed animals and also endangered species. It's not like seeing animals in the wild, although the pens are very large, but it was a good place to see the weenies! These are muskox and bison babies.
