May 12 Sarria

Rain today, not heavy but steady, enough that we needed to wear our
rain coats and pants. We took the long scenic route from Triacastela
to Samos and the to Sarria, 25 km in all.
The walk to Samos followed a beautiful small river and for the most
part was on small dirt farm tracks, a bit up and down but very
enjoyable. At Samos we had coffee and then wandered up to the 1500
year old monestry only to find we'd missed the tour by about as long
as it takes to have coffee and the next one was two hours later!
Ooops!
We followed the same river most of the way to Sarria, still pretty
but not as spectacular as the first leg. We got a nice room with four
bunks so we're happy about that. We ate our evening meal here and it
was very tasty.
Lee has got a cold and cough now too, so we may spend a day here to
rest her up. We've got her on the same antibiotics that fixed her up
when she got pneumonia in Nepal, so hopefully it will be something she
can get on top of OK.
