Today was our most scenic yet and also our highest. We left Rabanal at
6:45 on first light and started a gradual climb up to an iron cross
(La Cruz de Ferro) at 1,505m. We then dropped slightly and had coffee
at Manjarin and then climbed back up to 1515m before a steep 600m drop
to Riego de Ambros.
The scenery was the best yet, mostly low mountains in the foreground
with many wind turbines and a backdrop of snow capped mountains.
Our refugio tonight has two bed cubicles giving us some privacy which
is nice for a change.
